It was socketed with the first Kpro version. I upgraded to the 4th gen Kpro a couple weeks ago through Locash.

I'm not sure I understand the question. The solenoid and VTC controls the intake cam position. The position is determined from the sensors on the intake and exhaust cams.
What is the origin the ECU? It is the original ECU for the vehicle?

Yes, that picture is correct. The sensors don't go bad unless something catastrophic occurs. The next step would be to replace the VTC.

The valve train was rebuilt? Then you need to pull the valve cover and check the intake and exhaust sensor wheels are correct. Also check the valve timing at the transmission end of the head, using the cam sensor wheels with the engine at #1 TDC.

I've not seen a VTC go out, but have seen the solenoids fail. However, I think it is much more likely that it either is a wiring problem to the solenoid, or a mechanical problem from the cam / valvetrain install.
