89 CRX H22A Turbo... a little advice please

Post by Djnikko »

Hi all,
I wasn't sure which forum section to post this in but hopefully this one is OK. I have a h22 turbo crx which has darton sleeves, new pistons, rings etc. I need to get the car tuned but also need to bed in the rings. I have a few options and not sure which is best.
Do I goto the dyno for breaking in and again for full tune?
Risk bedding in the rings on a basemap?!
Run it NA for a bit? Then goto turbo once the rings are bedded in?
Or goto dyno with turbo hooked up and tune out of boost but with turbo hooked up?
Or not worry about any of the above and just goto dyno with everything hooked up and tune for full power or thereabouts.
It's my first time building and taking a car to dyno so any advice is greatly appreciated

Also can anyone help me out with a basemap for hondata s300 if I post the full spec? It currently has a basemap for NA

I would go with what your engine builder/tuner recommends.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't spoke with the engine builder about this and last time we spoke was a few years ago. He said the engine was solid and I know it has acl race bearings if that makes any difference.
Does anyone know where I can get a boost enabled basemap or someone who does remote hondata s300 tuning?
Much appreciated 🙏
