New install. USB connection issues.

Post by skot »

Hello. I recently got back a new kpro installed by you.
It is a 37820-PND-A56 ECU in a EK civic with a hybrid racing conversion harness and Ry-wire harness. On the questionnaire I filled out I stated it was using a k24 engine and requested immobilizer be turned off

I followed the setup steps listed on sticker covering the USB port on the ECU.

My issue is my laptop does not seem to be communicating with the ECU. Looking through your troubleshooting section I looked in the device manager and there is no device found.

I attached some pictures.

Using the kmanager software under HELP I tried test USB and received a "no compatible USB devices have been found."
I then tried the install USB drivers and got a generic error with no code.

I looked inside the ECU for lights.
The D1 light has a constant faint blinking and a bright red flash every second.

When I unplug the USB cable from my computer and then reinsert it...
The D2 light stays solid for a out 2 seconds then turns off. The the D1 like has the constant flashing red light.

I doesn't look look my attached photos uploaded. But they show the device manager with no kpro listed under the universal serial bus controllers.

Also that the k manager shows that drivers are installed and online. I have completed the registration for the kpro as well.

This is a brand new install and have never been able to upload data to the ECU. I did try starting the car at first and notice that the immobilizer enabled box was checked.
That's when I stumbled across the being able to upload charges.

Let me know if there is any other info that would help. I have rebooted the laptop. Uninstalled and reinstalled the kmanager software. I have not changed the cable as I think it is good because of the LED light sequence on the kpro board when unplugging and plugging it into my laptop

Thank you

New Calibration tab top left~vehicle type menu~other vehicle~k24-accord-stockk.cal~ select OK.

Cycled key to get "Ignition On" prompt in the lower left of program

Then hit upload. Start updating 25% green bar the says..
Upload failed.

Ive tried different programs the same method to see if I can get anything to upload

What happens if you go to the online menu/Tools and erase ECU?

I don't know if it matters but each time I get an error "ignition off" happens and I have to cycle the key to get ign on again.

Open the ECU and make sure that the K-Pro is seated on the pins correctly.

I checked and looks like the board is fully seated on the headers. I lightly pressed down in those spots to double check. No movement.
Tried uploading map again and failed.

Thanks I contacted them.

Do you think it could be anything else?
Like a blown fuse or damaged wire?

What is required of the ECU to be able to communicate via USB? I'd like to check to make sure the ECU is powered where it needs to be etc.

Like I stated before this a totally new setup. New engine harness and conversion harnesses from quality brands.

Thanks
