P1157 P0134 DTCs on K-swap

Post by amlucas92 »

Hi Guys

Hope you are doing well. I have a Honda Fit GE8 originally a l15a7, swapped with a K20z4 engine and transmission, running the stock FN2 ecu on Hondata Flashpro.

Mods:
4-2-1 headers
2.5" exhaust
K&N panel filter in stock FN2 airbox

Have replaced the following / checked the following:
- new OEM A/F sensor 1 (only running a primary).
- changed spark plugs
- cleaned MAF sensor
- checked wiring / did continuity test from ecu to A/F sensor and all checked fine
- replaced fuses (IGP, LAF, Fuel Pump fuses)
- checked for air / vacuum leaks
- checked for exhaust leaks

It is worth nothing that these codes pop up from time-to-time and are not permanent. Recently it's been mostly P1157 on its own. It will at times pend and then set after another few cycles.

Are there any other things / steps I am missing, or has anyone else experienced this / similar issue(s)?

Have you followed the troubleshooting steps for those error codes in the factory service manual?

Hi Spunkster

Yes, that was done, hence me saying that those checks all checks out fine, from the wiring to the sensor itself and yet for some weird reason it still throws the DTC every few days and then clears it on its own again after a day or two.

It sounds like there may be an intermittent wiring issue then.

Good day. Hope you are all well.

Just wanted to come back to notify that this issue is unfortunately still ongoing on my vehicle and not much progress has unfortunately been made after numerous hours of working at this.

I have done all of the following over the period since the last time I've reported here:

- Changed sensor with OEM FN2 sensor.

- Swapped that sensor with a known working FN2 and confirmed the new sensor and even the old sensor are both fine.

- Changed A/F fuse, fuel pump fuse, ignition coils fuse and ecu fuses.

- Changed AF sensor relay, main relay, ignition coil relay and fuel pump relay.

- Changed PVC valve and hose.

- Checked for vacuum leaks and exhaust leaks.

- Changed ignition coils.

- Ran LiquiMoly injector cleaner.

- Changed spark plugs.

- Changed fuel strain filter.

- Swapped the sensor into a different bung on exhaust.

- Checked wiring and since it checked out fine, rewired the sensor afresh either way and it still tested fine afterwards.

- Recently I pulled the A/F relay and switched the car on, which triggered an additional P0135 (which it never does otherwise) which references the O2 S1B1 Heater Circuit Open. I put back the relay and this code cleared. So the issue seems to be on the signal circuit.

Any ideas?

Have you discussed the issue with your Honda dealership that does repairs?

Hi Spunkster. I'm not sure I understand the question? Remember, my car is a swapped GE Jazz / Fit. FN2 Type R engine, transmission, ecu and engine loom.

I don't think the Honda dealership will be keen to look at a swapped car. Unless I misunderstood your question? :-)

Just an update: we found high resistance in one of the signal wires going into the intermediate plug and ended up taking it straight to the ecu connector, which seemed to have solved the issue.
