S300 not booting?

Post by PFITR »

Hello Hondata,

Starting a few weeks ago, when my Integra Type-R stays parked for over 3 or 4 hours, when trying to start the car, 90% of the times CE light takes between 30sec to 5min to go off After it goes off, I start cranking and the car starts and runs normally. If I try to start the car while CE light is on, it cranks, but does not start. If SManager is connected, it does not show any live sensor data until the CE light goes off, but then shows a tooltip "8 errors detected" or similar, but the error table does not show any error.

Any ideas on how to solve this issue?
Thanks,

Have the capacitors been replaced in the ECU?

No, should that be the first approach?

I suggest replacing them and see if that resolves the issue.

One question:
I'm suspecting the fuel pump, because this issue started when the car was really really low on fuel, to the point where I could ear sucking noises from the pump.
When I'm waiting the CE light to go off, it only goes off AFTER I ear the fuel pump priming.
My question: Is the ECU waiting the fuel pump priming to boot, or is the fuel pump waiting for the ECU to boot and command priming?

Thanks,
Paulo.

Most likely the fuel pump is not priming because the ECU has not properly started up and the capacitors are the most likely cause of this.
