96 turbo gsr 95 S300 no start, Disterr on sensors

Post by nsxr »

Just had cylinder head off to do a head gasket and now the car won't start. Is a 96 GSR but running a 95 ECU. ECU was changed from S200 to S300 last year and the car was started and a tune installed right before sitting for the winter to do the head gasket. Now back together and the engine cranks normal and injectors are firing but I now have no spark. All 3 sensors pickup sensors in the distributor are working and I have power to the coil. Noticed that the Disterr box is lit up under Sensors. Does anyone know what this means? No codes. Don't have another ECU to try, but thinking there is something wrong with the new ECU. All engine grounds are good.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Most likely this is an issue with the distributor. Is it getting spark and fuel?

Has fuel but had no spark. Found my old 96 OBD2 computer and put that in without the adapter harness and it runs ok. Put the Hondata ECU back in and now it will at least start but stalls out after a few seconds, puts out a code 6 and 7, yeah I know 6 7... Checked the adapter harness and no issues with that. Gonna open up the Hondata ECU and see if there is anything I can see that looks weird. Have a feeling the ECU is no good since the symptoms have changed and I haven't done anything other than swap the ECU's back and forth.

Why not use the OBD2 distributor?
