Hello,
Yesterday I tuned a ek civic with k24 turbo swap. Engine has darton sleeves + pistons+ rods etc. I tuned this kind of setup many times but yesterday I couldn't solved the issue. I clseod the spark plug's gap to first 0.6mm after that 0.45mm and misfire continous, I can not increase boost more than 1 bar with VP C85 fuel. After that I changed sparks, coils, I tried to increase dwell time for coils (I changed the value at 14v "0" to" 5" from voltage coompensation. Any advise to me to check ? I know that oem honda k20 coils are good up to around 800-850 whp.
K24 turbo misfire
Re: K24 turbo misfire
Are the spark plugs resistor or non-resistor type?
Re: K24 turbo misfire
I started with resistor type plugs (bkr8eix new set) and after that I also tried non-resistor type because I don’t have an other resistor type plug.
and also some info
at boost afr is around 11.5-12
at 1 bar boost, ignition timing is around 12-15 degrees
batt voltage is around 13.7v
seperate question:
I know that non-resistor plugs can cause datalog errors, are they cause misfire also?
Re: K24 turbo misfire
You should never use non-resistor type on an engine with electronic fuel injection. Use resistor type and see if that resolves the issue.
Re: K24 turbo misfire
If I wire audi r8 coils or nissan gtr coils, Can I use with hondata and adjust the dwell time by using battery voltage compensation table or ignition dwell angle table ?Spunkster wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2026 3:05 pm You should never use non-resistor type on an engine with electronic fuel injection. Re: K24 turbo misfire
This is not something that has been tested.
