PLX devices digital input - Kpro III

I am using PLX devices for wideband, oil pressure, oil temp, and boost/vac. I am using the digital inputs and have successfully datalogged with the wideband and oil temp. The wideband reading was a little inaccurate on the Kpro III and tended to fluctuate a little bit when compared to the DM-6 gauge. The oil temp reading in Kpro III was accurate.

My question is...does the Kpro III currently support oil pressure from PLX devices? I do not see it listed in the current KManager 3.1.6.0. I tried it with fuel pressure and that did not work...read about 2348 psi.

Thanks in advance!

Currently it does not, but we may be able to add it for a future release.

The reason you may see more fluctuation datalogging in our software than you see on the guage is that the guage may not refresh as frequently.

Hopefully not too late in the future for the oil pressure input but thanks for confirming.

The fluctuations with the wideband make it complicated to review the datalogs even at steady driving 65mph...I see fluctuations reading 12-20 that last for about 2-3 seconds then return to normal. The fluctuations are persistent and happen about every 10-15 seconds.

I can load the datalogs for review if that is of any interest - I am in the beginning stages of street tuning and slowly adding boost for driving comfort then will dyno it once I'm comfortable with the power ~ 2weeks.

Can you give us a rough conversion between the PLX gauge and KPro (with the settings as fuel pressure)?
eg gauge 30 psi, KPro 1000 psi, gauge 100 psi, KPro 2000 psi etc
This will help us check the conversion calculation.

I'll have a rough conversion before the weekend. I should have time to get the data tomorrow.

I tried to upload a spreadsheet but the forum does not allow that file extension. Of course the conversion would be more precise if I could take more data points so the uncertainty is off by ~0.5 psi.

I made a male 3.5mm jack and connected signal (yellow wire) and ground (black) to the 4 pin connector on the Hondata digital input:

Image

Here you can see where I connected the 4 pin connector. I connected the black wire to ground and yellow to I+

Image

It's all connected complete with a strain relief that you cannot see.

On the PLX module (wideband), I have the Tx (transmit) split with 2 female 3.5 mm. I connected one to the DM-6 gauge (it is male 3.5mm) and the other to the male 3.5mm male that I just fabricated and installed on the Kpro III. The remaining PLX modules are daisy-chained - no brainer with those.

I hope this answers your question. I added another fuse panel using a 10AWG (or 12AWG? I forget) to power the bus for 30amps. I then added 5amp fuses and ran the power wires from the bus to the PLX modules in parallel (18AWG wires for PLX modules). The rest is all aesthetics...raychem, flex loom, molex connectors, etc.

Looks like it is in bar (PLX does not mention what the raw units are). Conversion factor should be 74.22. We'll update the software for the next release.

If you invert my average conversion number then that is what you get so I agree. I chose to a ratio of DM-6/Kpro, you chose Kpro/DM-6...either way the same.

1/0.01344 = 74.4
