long story short.

I've kswaped my 2001 em2 with a 2002 k20a2 from a pre face lift ep3. followed a wiring guide online.
found a second hand kpro ecu for sale bought that. plug it in and it started after a bit of cranking.

I then downloaded the k manager software to load a base map on to the ecu and now the car wont start. at first it would just turn over. then as soon as i tried to start it would click then i'd lose all power no dash lights horn ect... then i'd disconnect the battery for a few mins and i'd have the lights back but it would then do it again when i try to turn it over.

tried with the battery on charge too.

plugged the standard ecu in witch still has the immobiliser and that didnt make any difference car still had this problem.

the kpro ecu has the code: PRB
and my original ecu had the code: PRA

would this make any difference? as like i said it was running with what ever map was on the ecu to start with.

any help would be awesome!

This does not sound like an ECU issue. This sounds like a battery voltage problem. Under load this batter does not have enough cranking amps left in it.

I've spoken to a few mates who both said its got to be battery/ wiring related.

will set about checking earth's and change the battery. hopfully an easy fix

well I think the problem has been found, first we thought starter motor as it wasnt working when removed and tested. after that we tried a different live cable and it was all fine. so what ever cable I've got witch it 8 gauge must not be enough.

will get some better cable and hopefully all will be well!

tried a few different things. starter motor wasnt bad so left it. changed the alter even though it was new just in case. I've now bought another ep3 loom and the k tuned conversion harness, but my battery light is still on and not charging is there something I need to do on the kpro? this is the only thing really holding me back now.

its working now, changed the loom and got a conversion harness now its charging thank god
