So I purchased a 2020 type r and now I want to jailbreak and get a flash pro set up. My issue is I can’t go without my ECU is there any solutions for Flashing the ECU without sending it off??? Also I live in NE Ohio. Unless I'm misunderstanding the website says instant jailbreak does NOT work with the 2020 model...

instant jailbreak means exactly that, you don't need to send it anywhere...

As far as it working with the 2020 i don't know.

Yeah compatibility is my main concern because it doesn’t specifically say it works with the 2020.

We don't support the 2020 ECU yet, but it is not far away.

Crap, I'm an idiot! I entered my 2020 FK8 ECU number into the FlashPro website, saw that it was supported (assuming I could instant jailbreak it as well), and bought it at the dealership today. Then I got to the Jailbreak point in the FlashPro Manager software, and everything was greyed out. Then I see on the site that 2020 isn't supported for instant jailbreak yet.

I ended up paying an extra $150 for the FlashPro from the dealership as well (it was $850 instead of $700), just so I could get it today instead of waiting a few days longer for an online order, since I'm super impatient.

Oh well, I should have paid closer attention to the text on the instant jailbreak site. I know which web page I'll be refreshing a billion times a day now ;)

Can the dealer jailbreak it ?

I'm curious about this as well... specifically for the 2020 FK8.

Due to the current pandemic, and the fact we are working from home, we are working on a way to get the 2020 jailbroken. This will involve it being sent in. Please check the website for updates to this.

Thank you for the update. To clarify, are you saying that the 2020 ECU cannot be jailbroken online like the previous Type Rs? Or just that initially, the ECU will need to be mailed in, and then sometime later you still plan on supporting the online jailbreak?

You cannot use the instant jailbreak on the 2020, as Honda has made changes.

Wow, that's a bummer. I assume Honda figured it out and blocked it? Anyways, thanks for the quick reply.

and they said they should be able to jailbreak the 2020 FK8 ECU if I mail it in to them. I just want to confirm if I do that, the Hondata Flashpro should work normally with this ECU. My ECU was listed as a supported number on your website for the Flashpro.
