Hello! I purchased a P28 ecu with a Hondata V3 online. I am using an eBay jumper harness to hook into my 1998 Honda Civic EX. It has a B20b swap. When I hook my laptop in, I am not getting any signal from the ignition or motor. It says online but I do not have a lighting bolt to upload/download tunes even when the key is on. I can crank the car over a couple times and get a check engine light for the O2 sensor I left out. Could it be an issue with my laptop to the Hondata? Or could it be something with my eBay jumper harness? Im stumped. I checked all my grounds and replaced one. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Post a picture of the adapter harness showing where it is plugged in on both ends.

Post pictures of the soldering on the bottom of the ECU that was done for the s300.

Is J12 cut on the ECU?

Have you replaced the capacitors on the ECU?

Yes J12 is cut. When I first got the ECU I sent it to Burton racing where they confirmed the ecu was working. They also said a capacitor was leaking so they put new ones in.

Was it tested with the s300 in it by them after replacing the caps?

Problem is solved. I used a cheap ebay jumper harness. Once I ordered a jumper from speed factory racing. I could upload/download tunes and everything worked properly.

Moral is I lost 3 years of progress due to a cheap ebay purchase. Don't be cheap on your builds.
