Knock logic on or off

I’m trying to figure out if the knock logic on the Kpro is difficult to deal with on a turbo motor.
I’ve had 3 etunes and each tuner turns knock control off to tune, and just turns it back on without adjusting the knock tables. Once the car is driving again, the logs are showing so much ignition retard and feels slow.
Is this a normal occurrence as each turner has told me that the knock control on the Kpro does funny things and often has a mind of its own.
