idle ignition control

Hello, I have the IACV valve disabled and I control the idle speed with "idle control ignition." However, every time I start the car, the idle control doesn't work. The ignition timing is stuck at 8°. After about 20 seconds, which is how long it takes, it starts reading the air/fuel ratio, but the idle control still doesn't work. The RPMs remain low, at 700, and the ignition timing is still stuck at 8°. I have to rev the engine several times for it to respond, and then it starts working correctly. The ignition timing advance increases, and the RPMs rise above 1000. As the engine warms up, they drop smoothly to 850 RPM. But why doesn't it work when I start the car? I have to rev the engine several times for it to work.

You really should have a proper idle controller.

Are you referring to an IACV? Yes, perfect, but that doesn't answer my question of why it's not working. I want to know if there's a problem or error, or if this symptom is definitely normal.

Any solutions to this?

Ignition controlled idle works with the idle valve. If the control variable go outside the normal range because you have disabled the idle valve then it is not going to work for you.

Ok, perfect

They could fix this in future software versions so that idle control can be managed by ignition advance, as other aftermarket ECUs do.

It already does. But if you remove the idle valve and disable the idle controller then it is not going to work.

What I'm saying is that I can control it by advance even with the idle valve deactivated.
