Fan temps

Post by amlucas92 »

Good day. I hope you all are doing well.

I've noticed my K20z4 Jazz GE8 - running FN2 ecu and Flashpro - swap is pinging under load. Car was recently tuned and all of fueling and timing seems normal. I however noted my fans doesn't cycle on until the ECT1 is already at 228°F but then the temps on ECT2 drops so much and quick that the fan doesn't run long enough to bring ECT1 down but instead it still continues climbing up to 235°F. These were with both sensors enabled and Fan On at 199 whilst Fan off is at 194.

I disabled ECT2 and the problem then is the fan cycles on (also note it is delayed by 5°F so it only really cycles on at 204°F) but it seems to struggle to come down past 194°F and thus the fan keeps running. I am not sure what the best settings are to 1) ensure the car is running cool enough and 2) ensure the fan cycles off once it has sufficiently cooled things down.

Any advise on this is appreciated.

It sounds like there may be a problem with either how the cooling system is setup, the flow of coolant or the wiring of the fan.
