Kpro 4 fuel economy not accurate

Post by Touge_Chaser »

Is it common for the fuel economy to be off while connected to k pro 4? Off throttle is registering 100km/L, wildly skewing the average reading, My air fuels will vary between reading full rich and full lean while off throttle also. Have also noticed changing the unit mode to litres per 100km appears to be calculated completely wrong. Numbers in the sub app(fuel economy) are also completely different to what I see on the fuel economy guage in the dashboard section. Any help would be amazing, was excited to use this feature.

Do you have the correct settings in the fuel economy settings?

I believe so, have attached a screenshot. Basic setup in a dc5 type r. K24a3, 50deg vtc, type r pump and intake manifold, Plm headers and custom 2.5 back.

When you let off the throttle and are coasting or going downhill with little to no throttle it will read a high number.

Yea, I get that, I’ll take some screen shots next time I’m driving, but, for example, it will say I’m averaging 15km/L at 8% duty cycle, fair, switch to litres per 100m, and it will display 60litres per 100km… miles off, same with setting it to mpg, is no where near accurate numbers. even with the 15km/L appearing pretty accurate for that load, as soon as I’m coasting the actual goes to 100km/L(as it should, injectors are off obviously) but it starts using that to manipulate the average, sending it way out of whack. I live in a very hilly area so there is alot of times I’m coasting, after a usual commute it is telling me my average is 40km/l, yet I’ve used a 1/4 tank doing a 80km drive. I’m guessing most oem’s limit the max L/km to stop this scenario. Have set my fuel economy max value to 36(where most oem’s appear to max) but that doesn’t transfer over to the fuel economy app.
