Okay I had my car tuned with an s200 and ran a s200 but then decided to sell it and get a s100 because I needed money and wasn't using all the fancy stuff anyways. But when the new s100 arrived, I thought i could just plug it right in, but it is not working.

I am getting the standard slow blinking light and the yellow solid light on the dash. I know this means its in limp mode due to possibly due to a bad connection or the wrong eeprom. I had previously NOT removed the j12 jump, so I did remove it to see if it was an issue of ECU not "seeing" the s100. Still does not work.

In the new s100 box, there was a new replacement EEProm 27FS512 and letter describing the procedures for programming it. I thought that it was optional to use it.

So I have a couple of questions:

1. Is the 29C256 (which is what i currently have) no longer compatible with the newer issued s200 and s100? (serial #1855)
2. If so do i need to have my tuner take my old tune off the 29C256 chip and move it onto the 27FS512?
3. Could there be any features or settings programmed on the 29C256 chip that are making the s100 incompatable?
4.Are there any other possibilities to make this work?

Well I no longer have the s200. I sold it.

In the mean time since i did NOT remove j12 jumper I have been running an old 2b just to get to work and back. My tuner did try to follow the directions online by converting to the V2.5 to be able to run the 2b. The 2b works fine, besides the some inconsistancies during idle and roughness below 3k, I keep it out of boost just as a safety precaution.

I must add that when we switched the tune to V2.5 I DID plug in the s200 and it still ran just fine.

So I am confused, the s200 and the 2b worked just fine. Am I missing something?

I think I found your problem. If my diagnosis is correct.

Here's your history.
1. Sold S200.
2. Convert to V2.5 using stage 2B
3. bought S100.
4. Removed J12.
5. Problem??!!

My question. Did you convert back to V3?
If not then your problem could be that. J12 needs to be cut with s100 or it won't work.

No I did not convert back to V3. ASSumed since I simply switched between the 2b and s200 (after converting back to V2.5) and drove it a couple of times before I sold it and had no problems, the s100 would be no different.

So need V3 and no J12. Got it.
Ill have my tuner do that.

If you send me back the chip and possibly the .bin file on a disk I can set it up with v 4.0 and try it out on one of our cars to make sure it works before it leaves.
