Knock counts vs Knock Levels vs Knock Threshold readings????

I am wondering if my concept is correct..
When you get a knock count in your datalog, you check your knock level vs your knock threshold. If the knock level is lower or way lower than your threshold, does that mean that your good and its not a harmful knock and its fake???? If its higher or around the same, you can then determine that it is a real knock and actions need to be taken...????
Now, what knock level does K-manager determine that if it should be registered as a knock-count or not??
I have gotten knock levels or .07v with a threshold of 1.07v and kamanager still records it as a knock count... So, I am alittle confused here..... Please inform me...

It is the ratio of knock to knock threshold which indicates how close you are to knock. Generally if the knock is below around 30% of the knock threshold then you are fine. If you are getting 'false knock' then look at the engine and determine what is causing the knock sensor to read noise as knock - any loose item or bolt will cause the knock sensor to read knock.

what you mean knock to knock threshold ratio? i didn't quite understand what you meant... Do you mean knock level ratio to knock threshold?

Correct - knock level to knock threshold ratio.

how high of knock level at a certain rpm does k-pro counts as a knock(in knock count).???? I don't understand how sometimes a .22v of a 1.07 threshold is still counts as a knock....

The knock level and knock threshold are sampled, whereas the knock comparison occurs at a much higher rate inside the ECU. Thus brief spikes of noise may not be datalogged, but the knock counter will increment.

Then I have another question, I have seen on some datalogs that the knock level was very close to the knock threshold but never was counted as a knock. But where a very low knock level is counted as a knock... So your theory confuses me and I am guessing alot of other people too...

This is not a theory, this is how the ECU works with knock. The sample rate is many times slower than the cylinder firing, so it is possible for a cylinder to knock, put the knock level over the threshold, register as knock, and then increase the knock counter.

Basically you mean sometimes a correct knock level isn't picked up b/c kpro's recording speed is alot slower than the cylinder, but kpro does picksup the knock as a knock count??
Another question, how can you tell when its a fake-knock vs real knock hence what we just talked about? Hence sometimes the knock level will be lower than threshold but still counted as a knock b/c the recording speed doesn't pick up the level...

Yes, you've pretty much got it - it is to do with the sampling rate vs cylinder firing rate.
'false' knock is often from mechanical noise, like a supercharger. On the dyno we use an knock amplifier with headphones to check for knock.

Now, how can a knock count be 0 still when knock level > threshold?
What factors determine K-PRO to count a knock? Is it just the knock level or is there some other factors?
