Throttle parameters

Warning: These are advanced tables. Do not change the values unless you are sure you know the effects of your changes.  Incorrect settings could result in the throttle not responding normally, with sudden vehicle acceleration.

Throttle Index Table

Some vehicles use a table to calculate the index to the main throttle table.

throttle-index

This table uses vehicle speed for the row index and throttle pedal for the column index.

Target Throttle Plate

This table maps the relationship between the throttle pedal and throttle plate.  The row index is rpm and the column index may be throttle pedal or the value from the throttle index table.  The throttle plate is opened less at low rpm for smoothness.

throttle-targetplate

Note that the throttle plate first column values are restricted in order to ensure the throttle plate closes when the throttle pedal is released.

Throttle Parameters

Throttle dampening

throttle-parameters

The standard ECU will slow the throttle opening when in first gear with the vehicle moving, which may result in a jerk once the throttle opens fully.  This may be disabled.

Overrun throttle

Upon overrun the throttle plate is held open slightly.

overrun-throttle

Minimum throttle opening compensation

This table adjusts the throttle opening upon overrun by coolant temperature

throttle-open-comp

Settings all values to -100% will disable the overrun throttle opening.

Throttle Flow

In some situations the ECU will need to know the air flow past the throttle body for a certain throttle opening.

throttle-flow

This table only needs to be altered for larger than stock throttle bodies.

Throttle Tip In Fuel

The ECU will add extra fuel when the throttle is opened quickly ('throttle tip in').

throttle-tipin-fuel

Tip in fuel ECT compensation

Compensates tip in fuel for coolant temperature.  A higher value is more fuel.

Tip in fuel throttle compensation

Compensates tip in fuel for starting throttle position.  A higher value is more fuel.

Injector Overrun Cutoff

The fuel injectors are shut off during overrun conditions (deceleration with the throttle closed).

throttle-overrun-rpm

The restart rpm determines at what engine speed the fuel injectors will restart operation.  There are two tables to set a hysteresis - the injectors will be switched off when the engine speed is higher than the cut table, and switched on again when the engine speed is below the recover table.

throttle-overrun-map

Manifold pressure is used to determine when the injectors are switched off.  There are tables for both the low and high speed cams, with hysteresis.
