About calibrations

A calibration contains all the information (settings and table values) which can be changed in the ECU.  The normal calibration file extension is .fpcal.

For a new vehicle it is possible to either load an existing calibration as a starting point (if a calibration exists) or create a new calibration.  Here we'll cover creating a new calibration.

New Calibration

1. Open the New Calibration window from the File menu.

2. Make sure the correct vehicle model and type are selected.  If your FlashPro is plugged in the model and vehicle will default to the correct settings, otherwise the last vehicle model will be used.

3. Double click on the calibration name to select the calibration and close the New Calibration window.

Stock equivalent means the calibration is equivalent to the stock calibration the vehicle came with.

Tuned means the calibration is tuned for best performance from that part combination.

4. For some vehicles a new calibration wizard is available.  By selecting the combination of modifications your vehicle has, and other parameters such as fuel octane, the best calibration for your vehicle will be selected.
