(S300 v2 & v3 only)
Warning: The digital input pins are connected directly to the microprocessor on the S300. The S300 may be damaged if battery voltage is supplied to these inputs.
The S300 v2 & v3 have a digital serial input located on the S300 board. This may to datalog and record channels from a digital stream.
There are two inputs - one using a 0V-5V level serial protocol with variable baud rate and normal polarity (idle high), and the second using inverse polarity (idle low).
Supported Devices
Note that none of these protocols include checksum or error correction, so occasionally spurious values can be datalogged.
See Digital Input / Output Wiring for connector details.
Digital Input This selects the digital input type.
Digital Channels Most digital inputs have a signal channel, however the PLX has multiple channels using a daisy chain arrangement. Up to 8 channels may be datalogged.
Details For each channel the channel type (typically wideband for single channel inputs) and unit may be selected. With the PLX since it is possible to have multiple channels of the same type (eg 4 channels of lambda, or 4 channels of EGT) an instance number can be set. The instance number is set by the PLX device based on the order in the daisy chain. eg the first unit is 0, the second is 1 etc. Note that this only occurs when multiple channels of the same type are present in the chain - normally the instance will be zero.
Digital Output See AiM Dash Output and RacePak Dash Output
CAN Output Outputs CAN packets for datalogging, see CAN Output The output rate is the rate at which packets are sent, not the CAN bus frequency. |
